Description
The Germanium Preamp Pedal is a drive pedal that replaces the first stage FET of the signature Preamp Pedal with a Germanium transistor. Using the same technology developed for the popular Germanium Boost, the Germanium Preamp Pedal provides the distinctive tone of a germanium transistor without sacrificing frequency response or being affected by temperature.
Although the amount of gain is slightly less than that of the Preamp Pedal, the rich sound of the Germanium transistor adds nuance to a wide range of distortion sounds, from overdrive to fuzz-like sounds. The Germanium Boost taste and the tone control (EQ) of the Preamp Pedal are combined to create a dream pedal!
Note: Germanium transistors are impervious to sound at temperatures above about 48.9C. Please be careful on extremely hot stages such as under the blazing sun.
