TheCountryman Type 10S Stereo Direct Boxcan be used to connect the output of any high impedance instrument, such as a keyboard or guitar, to a balanced XLR microphone input, allowing you to send signal to a mixer or mic preamp from your high impedance instrument. It features a 1/4″ and RCA input per channel, as well as a gold-plated stereo 1/8″ input. The unit also has two 1/4″ throughputs, allowing you to run a high impedance signal to an amplifier. The two balanced XLR outputs allow you to run your signal to any standard mic level input.
The Type 10S is designed with a flat frequency response from 10Hz to 50kHz with a linear phase response within two degrees for its range. This provides an accurate transient response, resulting in a transfer of your signal that is faithful to the source. The Type 10S features an active circuit, powered by 48 volt phantom power or an internal nine-volt battery. The active circuit allows your signal to pass through the direct box without being padded, as with passive boxes, and results in lowered noise and interference.
The unit features two channel independent ground lifts, which can reduce hum and electrical interference. The Type 10S also has a 0dB, 15dB, or 30dB selectable pad per channel, as well as a phantom and battery power test switch.
Over 105dB of cross talk rejection prevents signal mixing between the two channelsConnectors and switches are recessed into a single-piece extruded case with extra thick walls. Internal electronics are molded in epoxy to protect against electrical damage.
